Admissions

All admissions to Belmont Private Hospital are for privately insured or self funded patients. 

General practitioners and psychiatrists can refer patients to Belmont Private for admission during the hospital's business hours which are Monday to Friday, between 8.30 am and 4 pm.

Please note that we don't cater for emergency admissions.

The admissions and assessment co-ordinator will conduct an over the phone assessment with the patient and clarify health fund eligibility. All referrals are then assessed by one of the hospital's accredited psychiatrists before admission is confirmed.  

Acute Admissions

General practitioners may refer patients to Belmont Private Hospital 24 hours a day seven days a week by calling 1800 700 274. 

Elective Admissions

Elective admissions are arranged through the office of an accredited medical practitioner. In most cases a general practitioner refers a patient to a consultant at their rooms where an elective admission is arranged if appropriate
